The ghouls of Nekromantix swooped back into San Diego, this time at Brick by Brick, to finish out a leg of their tour before crossing overseas to the UK & Germany in 2020. The Danish-American Psychobilly band originates from Copenhagen, Denmark & have to me, been THE STAPLE example of what Psychobilly...or NEKROBILLY is all about. Kim Nekroman, the consistent original and founding member of Nekromantix struts a custom built coffin shaped double base, adorned with a cross headstock that is completely unique to Kim Nekroman and the Nekromantix. Their bass alone gives anyone in the crowd whom is not yet aware a grave idea of what their songs themes are, which are horror themed fast paced psychobilly flare. Having now celebrated 30 full decades of their legacy this year, 2019. Nekroman started the Nekromantix in 1989, after serving 8 years in the Danish Army as a submarine radio operator. On November 15th, 2019 the psychobilly band brought the haunted cathouse into a foot stompin’ body bompin’ night, with Stellar Corpses and San Diego band The Strikers opening the show. If you have yet to see a Nekromatix show I dare you to go and try to stay still. Their bass lines, guitar riffs and brazen lyrics and Kims stage antics while performing will have you enticed for a damn good performance. The brazen & cheeky lyrics are a gem for those who know the lyric content that Nekromantix brings in their music, from songs entitled such as: Demons Are a Girls Bestfriend, Who Killed the Cheerleader, Alice in Psycholand, Gargoyles over Copenhagen, Nekrofelia, Alive & Horney in a Hearse— just to name a few played that evening… if you’ve been living under a rock and are into horror or rockabilly-esc jams, I don’t know how you have not been aware of the badassery that is Nekromantix. To anyone for me who’s ever asked “What the hell is Psychobilly?” I always say “Start with Nekromantix, you're welcome.” ![]() For all you HORROR POPS fans… GET READY!! Because after a long touring hiatus we are HYPED that the lovely-lady-fronted band Horrorpops is coming to SAN DIEGO on January 31st! Patrica Day, the lead singer & front woman, with a gorgeous white flash-decorated base will be tapping and slapping those strings as Horror Pops embark on a highly anticipated tour!
